If upon checking your MIPS participation status for 2020 you are required to report for MIPS, you must report in order to avoid a 9% Medicare payment penalty in 2022. Even you are not required to report in 2020, but are able to opt-in, successful reporting can earn you up to a 9% increase in your Medicare payments for 2022.
